Wow. Wow. Wow. We’re halfway through the year?! JULYING!

Here’s an ACTION PACKED blog post for ya! Ready?! Let's gooo!

First off we’ve got some BIG NEWS - Kastania moved to the BIG APPLE! Yup you read that right, Kastania now lives in New York City. We've talked extensively about what we're going to do with this whole blog, and don't worry The Fog City Girls aren't going anywhere - virtually at least! We've decided to continue the blog and all our socials (Did you know that we also have a FB page, a YouTube channel, and a Twitter in addition to our IG?!).We’re still The Fog City Girls, but now we’re more of a coast to coast curated music blog by your favorite duo! Stay posted for another post on Kastania's first few weeks in New York!

Before Kastania’s Big Move, we hosted a Summer Solstice Potluck Party with our friends at Crissy Field near the Golden Gate Bridge.

Another quite big thing that happened is that OneAvenue.TV is no longer a thing. If you've been following us from the start of this blog, then you've probably seen our involvement with OneAvenue.TV. We first met co-founders, Dave and Imran, at the SoFa Festival in San Jose, CA. Dave impressed us with this amazing new mobile application that he had been developing with Imran. OneAvenue.TV was an entertainment one stop shop social media app to view your favorite influencer, artists, bands, etc. social media posts instead of switching between apps to see their content. When we first started this blog, we were partnered with OneAvenue.TV in helping create original content on their website. Their website was our “credential” to getting coverage for shows and interviews. Keep an eye out for all the posts we’ll be migrating from their website to this one. We’re eternally grateful to Dave and Imran for letting us be a part of OneAvenue.TV.

At Middle Harbor Shoreline Park in Oakland for Blurry Vision before we froze our asses off later that evening.

As far as shows this year, our attendance has definitely waned. So let's start off with some big music events we've attended. This first year of Blurry Vision brought some amazing hip-hop acts to the Oakland shores. We really do mean the Oakland shores since the festival was hosted at the Middle Harbor Shoreline Park smackdab in the middle of all the shipping yards. Middle Harbor Park gave us very FYF Festival vibes. (RIP FYF Fest 2018- located in Los Angeles) We were only able to attend one of the two days but it was a great show. Majid Jordan was a bit disappointing live. Brockhampton fucking KILLED IT. (This was before Ameer got kicked out.) And SZA is (and always will be) a fucking RnB princess with her angelic voice. Angeline was bummed to miss out on Healy earlier in the day, but s’all good cause ya boy is coming back in a few weeks at our fave place, POPSCENE!

If you don’t know, we work at ALT 105.3! (It’s actually what started our friendship.) Every year we host one huge summer music festival - BFD - and a two day winter concert - Not So Silent Night. This year’s summer music festival, BFD, was held at Concord Pavilion and boasted acts such as Jakob Armstrong’s band Mt. Eddy, Sacramento-based band Cemetery Sun, Billie Eilish, Bishop Briggs, the bae - James Bay, Nothing but Theives, Judah & the Lion and Blink-182! Working a festival, or any show for that matter, is completely different from actually attending a festival.

Besides the obvious backstage access, working a festival is SOOO rewarding. As part of the “street promo team” for the radio station, we are essentially the face of the radio station. There can be a lot of pressure there, but at the end of the day if you stay calm, cool, and collected, it can be one of the best gigs you ever get to be a part of!

We also attended and worked the 3-day BottleRock Music Festival located in Napa, California. It’s in wine country so everyone was drunk on wine and grooving. This year we had a wild time after we worked and caught Snoop Dogg and BRUNO MARS.

We’re continuing to build up this blog and pump out all the backlogged posts we have tucked away. Thank you to all of YOU for supporting our blog and our pursuits in this crazy music world. We love you lots and we hope you stick around!
